Simplicity can be driven by seamless beginnings and thoughtless ends. I nixed the color today and thought about darker hues. This spring’s trends, if you don’t already know will consist of blacks and whites. Darker grunge and the whitest of whites. As the snow melts I get more and more psyched for the spring trends to surface, such as this unhinged grunge wear. I strayed from an entirely black outfit, and softened the look with a dull high wasted corduroy mini. One of my biggest pet peeves is when somebody believes a bright neon or eye-catching color will balance out an otherwise dark outfit, this will only make a statement. To balance out a somber look you need to mute it out. In order to mute dingy blacks you need to layer/swap pieces for lighter greys/monochromatic patterns. I also added depth with these collant tights. Varying sheer and opaque tights will give you the illusion of extra layering as well as casting interest. Footwear, I kept with the black theme. Black shoes with black tights really tie up an outfit well (also elongates my legs).
